Randy Wilhelm, Knovation, Think Horsepower,

Greetings

After years having fun starting, running and exiting businesses, it is time for me to give back some of what I have learned.   My leadership experience includes K-12 Learning, Tech start-ups, Online schools, data, machine learning, and more.

I founded Think Horsepower now to help leaders and owners get things done faster, smarter and with fidelity and integrity.

What do you need to get done today?

Let's talk.

Appreciating you,

Randy Wilhelm

About Randy @ Work

Randy started his career in the insurance/financial services sector, first with a provider, Lincoln National, but quickly transitioned to a broker role, specializing in employee benefit consulting, design and business development.   While financially fulfilling, at 35 years old, he was feeling that if he didn’t cut ties with this industry, he would likely never satisfy his entrepreneurial itch, which had been present since university days.

So he exited the financial/insurance consulting market to Co-Found Thinkronize, an education technology solution start-up that was later rebranded to netTrekker and Knovation.  He became the CEO in 2000 and pioneered a new direction, narrative and solution for K-12 digital content delivery that addressed the needs of individual learners.  During that time, his company served over 90 Million students and about 5 Million educators.  He remained in the CEO role until the 2018 exit.   The business was sold  to ACT, Inc., the well known college readiness assessment organization, that now uses Knovation assets in their technology and content ecosystem today.     Over the nearly 20 years, Wilhelm guided several necessary business pivots to keep Knovation relevant and supporting the needs of the marketplace for which he was credited as a pioneer and leader in the learning and ed-tech sector.

Additionally, Wilhelm and a partner bought an online school curriculum/technology called Sevenstar that served a niche in Christian and Catholic schools.  Under his watch, Sevenstar grew and is considered the global leader in this space.  He sold Sevenstar in 2016 to a U.S. based investor who continues to run it today.

Randy is humbled and honored to work with the elite teams assembled at Knovation and Sevenstar.  Each person focused their hearts, minds, vision on meeting the needs of students everywhere.

Randy has been active in OneLIfe, a ministry founded by Vineyard Cincinnati to disciple marketplace leaders and business owners to lead a transformed and integrated life.   Originally serving on the Core launch team, he subsequently started numerous groups and is currently a coach to the group leaders.

Randy and his wife of over 30 years live in West Chester, Ohio and they have raised their five children, both biological and adopted.
